Our horse study unit (PreK/Kindergarten)

We're already in our third week of homeschooling. I can't believe it! Overall, it's been going very well. The kids are really enjoying themselves. Guggy (5) asks to do homeschool "all day, every day!" The only setback we've had is that our printer died last week. I haven't been able to print out our supplemental worksheets because of that. Hopefully I'll find an inexpensive one today!

We are finishing up our horse study unit. I geared the activities towards our 5 and 3 year olds. The first week, we looked at pictures of horses, learned about different types, and learned about their body parts. We also talked about different kinds of horses. To get some hands on experience, we decided to take a trip to a nearby zoo where they could ride ponies. This week, we found an easy horse craft. I even loved making it!

We used this horse worksheet from EnchantedLearning.com.

(My son's real name has been blanked out on his craft for safety  reasons.
Sissy won't allow me to take a picture of hers. :P)
You can learn how to make this foot print horse at Busy Bee Crafts!
