Breastfeeding Goals #BFBlogHop

I struggled with breastfeeding my first two babies. It was a struggle the whole way. By the time my third child, Mr. A. was born, I had goals to make it six months, eight months, one year, and beyond with him. At the least, I wanted to breastfeed him for 18 months and beyond that depending on the mutual desire to continue our breastfeeding relationship. Well, here we are over two years into it now and I'm not sure when we're going to stop. Not many people know that we're still nursing and not everyone understands it. That's okay. The World Health Organization recommends that mothers nurse their children until at least THREE years of age. My goals for breastfeeding this year include to establish a good tandem breastfeeding relationship with Mr. A and Baby 4!

You can read more about the World Health Organization's stance on extended breastfeeding here.

  2. Hope tandem nursing goes well for you! I nursed my daughter until she was 2 months shy of turning 3 and my son is still being nursed now at 21 months.
