"My Blue Bunny, Bubbit" by Maggie Smith {Children's Book Review}

{Disclaimer: I received a review copy of  this book in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated in any other way.}

"My Blue Bunny, Bubbit" is the perfect picture book for children ages 4-8. This story line features two things we know a lot about in our household -- crafting and new babies! Matthew, 6, and Cheyenne, 4, enjoyed reading this book with me. The little girl in the story is in love with her blue bunny, Bubbit and her Nonni, who guide her through welcoming her new baby brother. In the story, she, Nonni, and the bunny sew a new elephant for the new baby.

I love that this got us talking about when we welcomed their baby sister last year, which was such a happy time in our lives. They want to make their own elephant for her now, since Hallie just so happens to love elephants. I guess mommy is going to have to brush up on her sewing skills!

*I have to mention since some of you asked, that I never mention our 3-year-old, Avery in most of our book reviews, because storybooks just aren't capturing his attention unless they are about dump trucks or dirt these days!

  1. What an adorable book. Books that help introduce kids to new siblings is really important and needs to be done delicately and in a fun way, which it sounds like this book does exactly. I really like the art, too!

  2. What a beautiful book! And such an important theme. It looks like something all the children should have and read.
