EZ Leaps Shoe Tieing Aid Review & Giveaway (Ends 5/4)

Disclaimer: I received a free product in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. This blog is not responsible for prize shipment.

EZ Leaps is a product that caught my attention as a mom of a child with a delay in fine motor skills. Matthew, our six-year-old has struggled to learn how to tie his own shoe laces. As we all know, this is a common childhood milestone. For him, this is one of a few things he's embarrassed to be struggling with.

Eileen Sloan is the former first grade teacher behind EZ Leaps. She knew that when several of the children in her classroom of 30 needed help tieing their shoes, something had to be done. Developing EZ Leaps has been a time saver for many parents and teachers.

While Matthew isn't completely successful at independently tieing his shoes yet, EZ Leaps has brought him a long way. His struggle comes from having no dexterity in his thumb and pointer fingers, so building these skills are a struggle for a kid with sensory issues. It takes some complicated steps out, as he's able to just focus on threading his shoe laces through the loops and tieing the loops together (or rabbit ears, as some people call them). Joe & I spend so much time stopping and helping him tie his shoes. I figured it was going to be forever before he ever learned how on his own, but EZ Leaps is definitely speeding up the process.

If you have a child who is going to start learning how to tie their own shoes soon, or a child who is struggling to learn like my son, be sure to check out EZ Leaps. At $5.49 a piece, it's an inexpensive purchase to seriously save yourself a little sanity. As a parent, you know what I am talking about. There are tons of designs and there is sure to fit your child's personality. Matthew has the race car design as he's a big fan of Hot Wheels.
