As we wrap up World Breastfeeding Week, I wanted to introduce my fellow breastfeeding moms to a wonderful subscription box for nursing mothers. The 16 Minute Club is a breastfeeding subscription service box service specifically tailored to where you are in your nursing journey. I've breastfed all of my kids at some point, the longest being 3 1/2 years. With that sort of experience under my belt, I remember how important it was to have the right support to achieve my breastfeeding goals.
Wendy, the founder, is an IBCLC who has thought of just about everything in regards to supporting moms in these subscription boxes. I received the "early weeks" box which is geared towards weeks 1-6. Now, what the boxes contain are supposed to be a surprise, so I will only mention a few of the items I received. As you can see from the photo, this box is just jam packed full of items that are actually helpful to breastfeeding moms.
One of the items was an all natural postpartum spray with witch hazel. By the time I received this box, I was all healed up "down there" from having Ellia, so I didn't get a chance to try it out. I'm going to save it though, because you never know when it'll come in handy. My absolute favorite product was the reusable breastfeeding pads from Itzy Ritzy. I have been using these and rewashing them a ton! My milk supply is abundant and I experience constant letdowns, so disposable pads don't get the job done. I will be purchasing another set of these!
A couple of the other items were newborn mittens that have come in handy, because I do not like clipping those tiny nails! Also included were hair ties used to help moms keep track if baby is nursing at least ten times a day. I think this is a great idea for new nursing moms to have peace of mind and to remind them to also let baby nurse on demand.
Most importantly, is the binder which comes with pamphlets loaded with breastfeeding and baby care tips. For every stage of breastfeeding and baby care, the 16 Minute Club strives to support moms "one session at a time". There's also breastfeeding and care tips available under the Ask Wendy section of the website. If you're not a nursing mom, this subscription service also makes a beautiful gift!
Signing up is simple. Visit the website to pick the appropriate box by entering in baby's due date or date of birth. Boxes are shipped out every six weeks as baby moves through different developmental stages. Boxes start at $31.50 a month and are definitely worth the price.
