Learn With Homer Reading Program Review + $25 Visa Gift Card Giveaway

Check the bottom of this post for details on how you can save 50% on a new Homer subscription!

Our kids have been trying out the Learn with Homer reading program for about a week now. I'm so grateful for teachers and experts who develop programs like this, because there is such a need. So many students are struggling to read at grade level these days. One of our children has had a hard time and has even been to therapy sessions to help him advance his skills. I've spent many sleepless nights crying wondering what else we can do to help. That's where Learn with Homer comes in!

The Learn with Homer Program is a self-guided reading program for kids on the web or an iPad. My kids do a lot of their schoolwork through online programs, so this was the perfect addition to their school day. There are many areas for kids to explore on the map including Learn to Read, Story Time, Homer's Clubhouse, and Discover the World. What I love for my struggling reader is that he can have the program read to him, so he has that aid when it's necessary.

For parents, there are also many nice features. There are some additional worksheets that can be printed out for extra practice. I feel this is one of the best additions, because it's important to be able to transition skills from the screen to paper. Our son can read on a screen well, but struggles on paper. You can also view a gallery of your child's artwork and track their progress. It's also easy to set up multiple children on one account.

All three of my school aged kids (kindergarten, first, and third grade) have all been extremely engaged in this program the last several days. I love that it's something supplemental to our homeschool days. They are eager to get on and do it every day although we are on winter break! Learn with Homer is developed by teachers and educational experts. The developers boast that just fifteen minutes a day can drastically improve a child's reading skills.

Right now, my readers can receive 50% off a one year subscription to Homer, making it only $39.97. It is available on your computer or on an iPad. You can take advantage of this discount by following this link.
