Star from Afar: A New Christmas Tradition Review (& giveaway) | Holiday Gift Guide 2016

Christmas is our family's favorite time of year. As my kids have been getting older, we have sought out new traditions to do with them every year. Star from Afar is a new kind of Christmas tradition emphasizing the true meaning, the birth of Christ. If you don't do Elf on the Shelf, this can be a wonderful alternative.

Star from Afar is a game that includes a nicely built wooden nativity scene and figures. When the scene is set up, you keep Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and the sheep. The star and the Wise Men are meant to be hidden. You can hide the star anywhere in your home, and it has a hook so you can hide it in silly places. On the morning of Christmas, have your children move the Wise Men into the nativity.

The set also comes with a book that includes scriptures you can use each day. When you're done for the year, you can store everything in the nice box that comes with the set!
