I'm thrilled to be collaborating with my good friend who owns Sunshine & Spice Dolls! Schuyler is a work at home mom of two littles who makes hand-made dolls using mostly up-cycled materials. I was so impressed when she started showing examples of her work, since everything is sewn by hand. She is truly a creative soul and pours lots of love and creativity into each doll she makes. Both of my youngest daughters each own a Waldorf-style made to mimic their own personal looks.
We own several dolls, but there is nothing that compares to a hand-made doll. The stitching is beautiful, materials are eco-friendly in that they are up-cycled, and each doll is truly better than the last! Below are some photos of my daughters' dolls, including a description straight from the creator herself.
Ellia's Waldorf doll boasts jointed limbs, hand-embroidered eyes and brows, sculpted face, and a huggable body. The hair is from all natural Suri Alpaca locks (USA raised) and each lock is sewn in by hand. Her clothes are a one of a kind custom design and made with upcycled fabric. The fuzz her on her boots are made from Huacaya Alpaca Fiber (USA raised). --Sunshine and Spice Dolls
