An Alternative to Pop: Cascade Ice Water & Recipe Ideas

I have to admit that I used to be a person who was highly addicted to pop and other sugary drinks. I’ve explored various other drinks available, one being Cascade Ice. As a natural living blogger, I have to note that I do believe these drinks have sucralose as an ingredient. Whether or not an individual decides to consume sucralose is a personal choice. When it comes to sucralose vs. high fructose corn syrup found in many drinks, you have to do that research for yourself. Something worth mentioning to my natural living readers is that Cascade Ice does have an organic drink line available for purchase.

That being said, I am okay with certain things in moderation. We don’t allow our children to have very many drinks with coloring, sugar alternatives, and similar ingredients. Overall, I am very picky about what they eat. Sampling Cascade Ice was definitely a treat for them and I allowed them to have small cups. Our overall favorite was the lemonade flavor. Cheyenne generally doesn’t even like lemonade, but enjoyed the light taste of this drink. My second favorite would be the McIntosh Apple. It’s a great flavor for fall!

Cascade Ice was kind enough to provide some recipe ideas that you may want to try with your own family. 

  • Back-to-School Berry Blast: To create, mix 1 cup of apple slices, ¾ cup of Greek yogurt, ½ cup of soy or almond milk, a handful of fresh berries and 4oz of Cascade Ice Huckleberry Blackberry in a blender. Blend until smooth and top with a few more fresh berries.
  • Apple Fizzies: So delicious and fun to make! Just pour 6oz of Cascade Ice McIntosh Apple over ice, add in sliced apples and sprinkle in some cinnamon. For the perfect after-school combo, serve the extra apple slices with a tablespoon of peanut butter!
  • Watermelon Slushie: Watermelon is oh-so-delicious, and ripe for the pickin’ this fall. In a blender, combine a few handfuls of ice, several seedless watermelon chunks and 8oz of Cascade Ice Blueberry Watermelon.Then, pour in 6oz of club soda. Blend to desired consistency and enjoy!

    I am one of those people who is addicted to soda, but I would definitely be interested in an alternative sometimes. The watermelon one sounds good.

    I am not much of a pop drinker. I have a diet soad maybe once a month. I much prefer water. Nothing for me to worry about in filtered water.

    I used to drink a lot of soda. Now I am down to a glass here or there, once a week at most. It's nice to see there are healthy alternatives out there.

    I've started drinking fizzy drinks and they can be hard to get used to but once you start.. it is hard to stop.

    I was horribly addicted to pop as well and one day decided that enough was enough. This drink sounds like the perfect thing for me. Water is getting a little boring to drink day in and day out 🙂 Will be checking this out. Thank you

    Neither one of my boys drinks soda so this would be a great alternative for them. I like that there are some flavor options.

    I don't think I could ever give up soda but my daughter loves all kinds of juices and flavored drinks. She would love these!

    I am thinking this is a great way to get myself to drink more water. I try and I will succeed for a few days and then I get bored with the taste and go back to my sweet tea (addiction) but I am going to try some of these!

    I stop drinking soda years ago. This sounds like a great tasting alternative. I love that the offer so many different flavors.

    My husband would love these to take to work. He takes energy drinks usually, but these would be so much better for him, and I know he'd like them too.

    Thank you so much for sharing these alternatives to soda. Soda is one thing I have been trying to cut from our diets but have not been successful as of yet.
