Egg Carton Fall Trees

Disclaimer: I originally found this idea from this blog post via Pinterest. I take no credit for this idea.

We absolutely love fall in our family. It doesn’t really feel like fall yet in our part of Iowa again given drought condition and record highs. We still decided to start our fall unit today.

You will need:

  • cut up egg cartons
  • paper (can be colored paper, printer paper, etc.)
  • fall colored paint (red, brown, orange, yellow, etc.)
  • crayon/marker to draw tree trunks
First, we reviewed/discussed fall weather, how leaves fall off the trees, etc. I cut up the egg carton into three pieces. I used plastic containers to pour the paint in for each child and then let them use the egg cartons to create leaves however they wanted.
