Motherhood is a bumpy road and it’s easy to get stuck in a rut. I’m sure you know what I mean. You get tired of the same ole thing day after day. As mothers, we wear many hats and a lot of the time it is us that keeps the balance in our families. So what motivates me to be a better mother? I have a few things that motivate me.
My Health: If you keep up with me on Instagram, you know that I am adjusting to a new diagnosis of Celiac Disease. I am re-learning food and how to cook, so that I can become healthy. Obviously this goes hand in hand with being the best mom I can be. I have to maintain my health so that I can take care of myself and my family.
Don’t Major in the Minors: Giving myself grace each day is very motivating and encouraging. This means that as we go through out the day, we don’t need to get upset over everything that goes wrong. Sometimes kids are going to make mistakes, like accidentally spilling a drink. As adults, I think sometimes we forget that we also make mistakes. Life is so much less stressful when we learn to let the little things go.
My Children: I want my children to enjoy their childhood while they can. It goes by all too quickly and I think there’s a lot of pressure on kids these days. Kids are expected to act like little adults and jump through hoops. This ties into my point that when I am less stressed, I am more motivated in life!
