Remembering to trust God

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of a man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

I recently downloaded a Bible application to my phone that gives me a daily verse to read. I am horrible about sitting down to do devotions, so this is my way of doing it. All morning I was thinking, “what in the world does this verse mean?” And then it hit me.

In April/May, we went through a dry period financially. Our extra means of income was not there. We are a one income family and sometimes we depend on that extra income just to help us get by a little easier. Finally, during the month of July, it eased up. Hence no posts from me, we’ve been a little busy. Now when we are ahead on bills a little bit, something else comes up? And I sighed last night when it happened. But isn’t that always how it goes?

Instead of stressing out, I realized that I needed to continue to put my trust in the Lord. We’ve been in worse situations financially and the Lord carried us through those hard times as well. We’ll do what we have to do to make ends meet and everything will be all right.
